Please Share Your CH Cat Thanksgiving Stories
Funny and crazy things always happen around the holidays — even if at the time we can’t see the humor in them. This past Thanksgiving was particularly wonderful, especially thanks to one crazy story about our cats. I’ve shared ours below, and I’d love you to share yours too! Please feel free to add it in the comments, or email me and I can add it below.
When my husband and I returned from our honeymoon in Costa Rica last week, the one thing I was looking forward to most (even more than Thanksgiving!) was to see CG and Ellie. They were staying at my mom’s home, and while I knew they were in good hands, I was eager for them to be in my arms.
Usually CG gives us the cold shoulder when we return after a trip, so I was worried that after being gone 10 days, he’d be particularly upset. However, the moment I walked in the door and saw him, he chirped happily and came over for a snuggle. What a relief!
But Ellie was the one that made the whole moment priceless. She had absolutely no idea who we were.
My husband picked her up, and you could almost read her face: “This guy is nice, but who is he?” I held her too and didn’t get so much as a purr! When we put them in their carriers to come home with us, we joked that Ellie was getting a new family for Thanksgiving!
Well, I’m happy to report that once we brought her home, we could see her little metaphorical light bulbs turning on one by one as she walked around our apartment. She did have a moment while I was preparing her breakfast when she forgot where it went, but she figured it out quickly enough. Thankfully by the next day she seemed to have remembered everything and woke us up with a million loud purrs.
Or maybe she just fell in love with her “new” family.
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Congratulations on your marriage! Your kitties are so sweet. Thanks for the cute update! They are both darling!
John shared this cute story with me:
“Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Just wanted to let you know that Princess absolutely loves turkey. I came home from my mom’s with turkey in a bag and Princess came out of the bedroom with her nose in the air. Then when I went to feed her seconds, I took the bag out of the refrigerator and Princess came running as fast as she could to get some turkey. Happy thanksgiving.”
