Meet The Meowhaus Project

Every so often something extraordinary happens — so extraordinary that you almost wonder if it’s really real.

That’s how I felt when I came across The Meowhaus Project, “a project designed and built entirely by student volunteers to create a self-contained housing solution for disabled cats at an animal shelter.”

And guess what type of disabled cats this team is planning to help? Cerebellar hypoplasia cats. How cool is that?

They posted their project on indiegogo.com to raise $3,000 for the project. Although the community has donated materials, the team still needs some funding for transporting materials, insulation, inside furnishings and more. The cool part about this is that all of Friday I watched their goal inch toward $3,000. Earlier Friday they were about 85% of the way to their goal and right now (late afternoon Friday) they’re only $15 away. How exciting!

Here’s the video they posted to explain their project. You can find out more about it here and on their Facebook page.

In the meantime, I’m trying to reach out to this team, to see if I can learn more and share more about them here!
