How To Find A CH Friendly Vet Close To You
Two of my dearest friends in the CH cat community are working on an outstanding project – they’re compiling a list of CH friendly vets around the U.S.
This is such a fantastic idea since it can be difficult to find a vet who is good with CH cats, let alone aware of cerebellar hypoplasia.
This can be especially helpful to those who take in wobbly cats off the street and those who have adopted a CH kitty. All to often these special cats can cause additional worry and concerns in our lives, so it can be a relief to work with someone who is familiar with cerebellar hypoplasia, especially if a surgery is required.

If you know of a CH friendly vet that you would like added to the list, please comment below or contact me. I’ll pass that information along so your vet can be included on the list and map!
Dr. Brandi Uhl, VCA Fox Chapel, Pittsburgh, PA 15238
GREAT VET and VERY knowledgeable about CH !!!!!!!!!!!!
She is my Clarence’s vet .
Dr.Azra Marghoob & Dr. Cathy Klemenger @ Companions Animal Hospital, 1798 Merrick Road, Merrick, N.Y. 11566, helped save my CH cat, Joe, when he had an obstruction. They are wonderful & caring vets!!!!!!
Do they do spay and neutering?
Dr. Kathleen Ternes at the Feline Hospital in Salem, Massachusetts. Dr. Ternes is an excellent diagnostician, and is wonderful with kitties with neurological disorders. She takes wonderful care of our CH kitty, Tippi, and was awesome when my Maine Coon had a brain tumor. This is a cat-only office, and all of the vets there are great.

She is not the ultimate expert in CH but she is very familiar with CH because she has seen it before and one of her close friends, who I believe is also a vet, has a CH dog. The entire staff is very good with Mimosa and take extra precautions to make sure she is safe when she is there (i.e. extra padding on her cage after anesthesia etc.). If she doesn’t have the answer to a CH question, she will make sure she contacts someone who is more familiar with CH before administering any drug. For example, before Mimosa had surgery recently, she told me what she thought was the safest form of anesthesia for CH cats but just to make sure, she called another vet just to verify that she was correct before proceeding, which I really appreciated!
I live in the Chicago area and just became the mommy of a CH kitty. I would just like to point out that the Schaumburg Animal Hospital is now VCA, and Dr. Melanie Murphy is now at Noah’s Animal Hospital in Wheaton. We took our kitty to her yesterday, and she was WONDERFUL. Dr. Levine seems to have moved to Texas. I called the Schaumburg VCA and they girl who answered the phone wasn’t even able to tell me if any of the doctors there are good with special needs cats, let alone CH, so it should probably be taken off this list. Add Noah’s in Wheaton, IL!
In Arizona- Dr. HORSELY of The Scottsdale Veterinary Clinic http://www.tsvcpets.com is very good with my CH kitty.
